Meeting – Statewide ARES Simulated Emergency Test

Allegheny County PA ARES meeting on 9/30 at 7pm – location is the W3KWH Steel City ARC clubhouse located at 208 McMichael Road in Collier Township – planning for the SET Drill on 10/3. Everyone is welcome to participate – either mobile or from your home. For those who cannot make it to the meeting, I will have a virtual Zoom meeting room in place – invite below.

Both EPA and WPA Red Cross will be participating – please refer to the attached drill scenario outline from the Red Cross – note this is a draft version of the scenario. We will practice an ARES call out and simulated deployment on 147.09 day of the drill for those who wish to do so. The simulated deployment will be to test both repeater and simplex communications from different areas around Allegheny County. We will use the 147.09 machine as primary and the 443.45 Pitt repeater as a backup. Simplex will be on 146.55. I will provide a 205 form at a later date once I have confirmation of any HF activity for the drill in the WPA ARRL Section.
