Two Rivers ARC has the following activities planned for July.
The Two Rivers ARC W3OC Field Day Operation has concluded for this year 2023. It was held at our traditional site at the White Oak Park Water Tower Site, located just off of Muse Lane/Carpenters Lane-White Oak PA, on June 24th and 25th.
Members of Two Rivers ARC and Allegheny County ARES along with other radio club members assisted WARES (Westmoreland ARES) in providing radio communications for the Air Show at the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport.
Operations night testing QuadPlexer. QuadPlexer enables four radios to operate one antenna at the same time. Our QuadPlexer is set for 40 meter, 20 meter, 15 meter and 10 meter. Antenna used was a repaired Eagle One vertical antenna. Little more fine tuning needed.
After the May 22nd general members meeting. Those of us that did not know anything about FT8. Had a chance to learn what FT8 is and how it works.
This year’s event is now history. It was held on Sunday April 16, 2023 at the Elizabeth Volunteer Fire Department Bingo Hall, 101 South 1st Avenue, Elizabeth PA 15037.
James J. Tapocik, age 62, of White Oak, formerly of Port Vue, died (silent key) April 11, 2023, at home. Born February 7, 1961, in McKeesport, he was the son of Jerry A. and Virginia (Tapocik) Holmes and the husband of the late Cynthia A. (Lopota) Tapocik.
WEARS (Westmoreland Emergency Amateur Radio Service) paid a visit to the Two Rivers ARC Members meeting. The members of WEARS have put in a lot of time and effort into building the WEARS Mobile Command Center.
