TRARC Activities for August 2023
Members,
July is almost behind us and the weather is stupid hot and humid. As we “enjoy” this weather, Two Rivers ARC has the following activities planned for August.
Tuesday, August 8th will be our next Two Rivers ARC board meeting at 7pm at the Blaine Hill VFD Main Hall, 409 Oxford Ave, Elizabeth, PA 15037. Jim Bricker N3JHB will issue an email to the board members concerning the agenda.
Thursday, August 10th will be our operating night beginning at 7pm at a new location – Lincoln Borough VFD Station 184, 4312 Liberty Way, Elizabeth 15037. We will be using the vertical antenna that we have used at previous meetings. The multiplexer will allow us to operate up to 4 radios simultaneously on 40m, 20m, 15m, and 10m. So, bring a radio and a power supply and let’s have a great operating session. I will not be joining you as I will be in Taylor, Nebraska (that’s in the middle of nowhere).
Saturday, August 12th will be the Two Rivers ARC Hams and Eggs Breakfast. It will be held at the Butlers Golf Course, Rock Run Inn, 1800 Rock Run Rd, Elizabeth, PA 15037. Breakfast will start at 9am.
Tuesday, August 15th will be our next Two Rivers ARC general members meeting at 7pm at the Blaine Hill VFD Main Hall, 409 Oxford Ave, Elizabeth, PA 15037. If you cannot make the meeting in person, please sign-in via Zoom. The big topic for the meeting will be preparations for the Club picnic which will be the following weekend.
Saturday, August 19th will be the Two Rivers ARC annual picnic at the Chestnut Pavillion in White Oak Park. The Club will be providing the hamburgers and hotdogs (with buns, cheese, and condiments). Two Rivers ARC is also providing soft drinks and water. You are welcome to bring your own beer. The Picnic Coordinator this year is Bob Guthrie KB3ST. Bob has started planning the picnic and needs information from the membership to get a proper head count. Please provide Bob the following information as soon as you can by calling his phone number or by sending him an email. His information is provided below.
1. Do you plan to attend and how many guests.
2. Can you bring something to pass and if so, please let him know what you will bring. We will need salads, baked beans, chips……
3. Will you be bringing any games? I will bring my cornhole boards.
Bob thanks those who have already responded. I will be putting out a reminder email providing the menu, time, and a map to the pavilion.
