TRARC Activities for July 2024
Members,
I hope everyone has enjoyed all the fun in June including Field Day. As we progress forward into July and dream about cooler weather, the Club has the following activities planned for July.
Strip Tickets – I have strip tickets for sale. They are the 5 number tickets that go off on Monday, July 15th. The tickets are $5 each and the winner gets $600. The winning number will be drawn on the 7pm PA Lottery 3-digit number with no wild card. Please let me know if you like to purchase tickets.
Tuesday, July 9th will be our next Club board meeting at 7pm at the Blaine Hill VFD Main Hall, 409 Oxford Ave, Elizabeth, PA 15037. Jim Bricker N3JHB will issue an email to the board members concerning the agenda.
Thursday, July 11th will be our operating night beginning at 7pm at the Lincoln Borough VFD Station 184, 4312 Liberty Way, Elizabeth 15037. We will be using the vertical antenna that we have used at previous ops nights. The multiplexer will allow us to operate up to 4 radios simultaneously on 40, 20, 15, and 10m. We use the Club call W3OC which allows Technician Class operators to operate on all bands (Extra Class operators will be there to assist). Please come out and have a great operating session.
Saturday, July 13th will be the Club’s Hams and Eggs Breakfast. It will be held at the Butlers Golf Course, Rock Run Inn, 1800 Rock Run Rd, Elizabeth, PA 15037. Breakfast will start at 9:30am. THIS IS A NEW TIME!
Saturday, July 13th will be the Lincoln Boro VFD 12th Annual Car Show at the Lincoln Boro Social Hall (where we have ops night). They ask for volunteers from the Club to help and I plan to help. They also invited us to set up a table and operate as W3OC to showcase the Club. The show runs from 11am to 4pm. If you would like to help, please let me know. We plan to operate, so please let me know who will help setup and operate as W3OC. If it will be a rainy day, the show will be moved to the following Saturday.
Tuesday, July 16th will be our next Club meeting at 7pm at the Blaine Hill VFD Main Hall, 409 Oxford Ave, Elizabeth, PA 15037. The big topic will be Field Day results and plans for the August picnic.
Side Note – I lost a Rig Expert antenna analyzer at Field Day. It is a hand held piece of equipment with a bright orange color on the case. It was last seen in the trailer near the operating desk. I believe it got packed up with other club property. If anyone knows where it went, please let me know. Thank you.
I have a blue handled Husky Phillips screwdriver. Please let me know who owns it so that I may return it.
